Draft Y our
F inancial Dream Team
by
John R. Burley
f you want to build rock-solid wealth, you need a team of trusted advisors
I to help you make decisions. I read voraciously, attend seminars and work-
shops, and have a vast base of real-world knowledge to draw on when making
financial decisions. But I don’t know everything. One of the smartest things
I ever did in starting my business was to surround myself with a group of
trusted advisors who are experts in their particular financial niches. In this
chapter, I want to talk to you about what you need to keep in mind in building
your own “dream team.”
Let’s start with financial advisors, and how you determine what you need.
Many call themselves financial planners or advisors (which, by the way, in the
United States requires no licensing or training), but unfortunately, they
aren’t; they’re really just salespeople. How can you tell the difference? Let
me explain.
