Statement from President Donald J. Trump on Joe Biden’s Announcement April 24, 2023
You could take the five worst presidents in American history, and put them together, and they would not have done the damage Joe Biden has done to our Nation in just a few short years. Not even close.
Thanks to Joe Biden’s socialist spending calamity, American families are being decimated by the worst inflation in half a century. Banks are failing. Our currency is crashing and the dollar will soon no longer be the world standard, which will be our greatest defeat in over 200 years. Real wages have been falling 24 months in a row—in other words, under Biden, workers have gotten a PAY CUT each and every month for two straight years. We have surrendered our energy independence, just like we surrendered in Afghanistan, which we had just a short time ago—and the price of gasoline just hit a 5-month high, and it’s going much higher than that.
Under my leadership, we had the most secure border in U.S. history, by far. Never had a border like this. Under Biden, the Southern Border has been abolished—and millions of illegal aliens have been released into our communities. What’s happening now is beyond belief. They’re coming in from mental institutions and prisons. They are all being emptied. They are being dumped into the United States of America. Many of these people are very dangerous, they are being dumped. We are like a dumping ground. Our cities have been overrun with homelessness, drug addicts, and violent criminals, who are being released from jail in mass with no retribution whatsoever, while law enforcement is weaponized against law-abiding conservatives or Republicans, or people they just don’t like. Our children are being indoctrinated and mutilated by left-wing freaks and zealots. The senior ranks of our military have gone completely woke, and our military is suffering greatly.
Biden has totally humiliated our Nation on the world stage—starting with the Afghanistan disaster, perhaps the most embarrassing event in the history of our country. It meant so much to our enemies when they watched that horrible retreat. Russia is teaming up with China. Iran is days away from a nuclear bomb—not even thinkable. Ukraine has been devastated by an invasion that would never, ever have happened if I was president—and Joe Biden has led us to the very brink of World War III. They say Trump was right about everything. Well, I’m not predicting World War III, but I will say this: we’re very close and they’re only talking about nuclear weapons.
On top of it all, Biden is the most corrupt president in American history—and that’s not even close. Nobody can believe what’s going on, with again no retribution whatsoever.
With such a calamitous and failed presidency, it is almost inconceivable that Biden would even think of running for reelection. You know what happened in the last election: they cheated, and they rigged the election. But I promise you this: when I stand on that debate stage and compare our records, it will be Radical Democrats’ worst nightmare because there’s never been a record as bad as they have, and our country has never been through so much. There has never been a greater contrast between two successive administrations in all of American history. Ours being greatness, and theirs being failure.
With your support in the election, we will defeat Joe Biden in 2024. We will rescue our economy. We will crush inflation. We will stop the invasion on our southern border. We will restore our Nation’s dignity. And we will prevent World War III from happening. Together, we will all Make America Great Again! Thank you.

The Real Ron DeSantis Playbook April 21, 2023
"The real DeSantis record is one of misery and despair. He has left a wake of destruction all across Florida and people are hurting because he has spent more time playing public relations games instead of actually doing the hard-work needed to improve the lives of the people he represents." - Steven Cheung, spokesperson
Mar-a-Lago, FL— While Ron DeSantis engages in a weeks-long shadow campaign for president boasting his playbook, Florida continues to tumble into complete and total delinquency and destruction.
On DeSantis’ watch, Florida has become one of the least affordable states to live in the country.
In his first term as Florida governor, Ron DeSantis raised taxes on Floridians by more than $1.5 billion.
The National Low Income Housing Coalition estimates that a Floridian making $10 an hour must work 86 hours per week just to afford rent on a modest single bedroom home in Florida.
The cost of living in south Florida shot up 10% in just the last year alone, the highest increase by far in years, while the national average was only 6.5%.
Home prices skyrocketed in Miami by 32% last year, and by 34% in Tampa.
According to a 2023 SmartAsset study, the Orlando metropolitan area was the 10th most expensive to live comfortably in the nation. Miami closely followed, as the 12th most expensive metropolitan area and Tampa also made the list, as the 16th most expensive.
Florida is now the fourth-most expensive state in the country for healthcare, and has the highest annual car insurance premiums in the nation.
While nearly half of the gas stations in Miami and Fort Lauderdale are without fuel, those Floridians lucky enough to find a gas station with fuel will be paying a stiff premium.
Florida ranks in the 10 most expensive states in the continental United States for fuel prices, and in 2023, Florida imposed a new hike on fuel purchases.
On Education, Florida ranked #39 in Health and Safety, #50 in Affordability, and #30 in Education and Childcare.
Under Ron DeSantis, Florida has become among the worst states…
To Live: In April 2023, Money Inc cited Florida’s failing education system and above average poverty rate in its list of 20 Worst States to Live in America.
To Find Economic Opportunity: Florida ranked 36th in Economic Opportunity, according to U.S. News.
To Work: An Oxfam report had Florida at 29th in their Best and Worst States to Work rankings.
To Retire: Florida ranked 26th in elder abuse protections, and was the worst state in the country for resources related to elder abuse protections.
To Raise a Family: In 2023, WalletHub marked Florida as one of the worst states in the nation to raise a family—ranking 32nd. Within that survey, Florida ranked 50th in Affordability, 30th in Education and Child Care, and 39th in Health and Safety. In 2022, Florida ranked 39th, among the worst states in the nation to raise a family.
To Pay Taxes: Florida is the third-worst state for fair taxes in the nation, according to a 2020 study.
To Be Safe: In WalletHub’s October 2022 rankings of safest states to live, Florida came in at the bottom, ranking 44th out of 50. According to the study, Florida ranked 44th in workplace safety, 46th in roadway safety, and 25th in financial safety, and 34th in personal safety.
To Rent a Home: Median rent prices shot up 30% from 2020 to 2022, with more than 2 million Floridians spending more than 30% of their income on housing, alone.
To Have A Baby: Florida ranked 42nd in the Best States to Have a Baby, 44th most to have a baby, 37th in Healthcare, and 39th as one of the nation’s least family friendly states.
To Afford Energy: Florida ranked 38th in energy affordability, with the 4th most expensive monthly electricity costs of any state ($158) and 11th most expensive monthly natural gas costs ($82).
To Die: ESPN wrote that Florida is the Worst State in The Nation To Die, citing the fact that Florida has the fewest Medicare providers per capita of any state. Reminder: DeSantis voted to cut Social Security and Medicare, and raise the eligibility age to receive benefits.
To Be a Teacher: In 2022, Florida was the 3rd worst state in the nation for teacher pay.
To Be a Doctor: Florida ranked 37th on the list of Best States for Doctors, namely due to Florida’s failing medical environment.
To Be a Police Officer: Florida came in at the bottom of the list, placing 36th in the rankings for best states to serve as a police officer.
For Millennials: Florida ranked among the worst states in the nation for millennials (37th)—placing in the bottom 10 states for education and health.
For Working Dads: Florida ranked 36th on the list of Best and Worst States for Working Dads, marking 46th in the category of economic and social well-being.
For Working Moms: Florida placed 26th in the ranking for Best and Worst States for Working Moms.

ICYMI: Florida Congressman Michael Waltz Endorses President Trump April 20, 2023
Mar-a-Lago, FL – Congressman Michael Waltz announced his endorsement of President Donald J. Trump and gave the following statement to Breitbart News:
“These last two years under Joe Biden have been disastrous for our country. Inflation is rampant, our southern border is wide open, China is on the rise and embarrassing us on the global stage, the left have wasted trillions of dollars, and the Washington bureaucracy is worse than ever before. Biden’s devastating handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan killed 13 of our brothers and sisters. Biden’s actions have not only weakened the U.S. but emboldened terrorists around the world who seek to strike back at America. We need experienced and proven leadership back in the White House.
“Today I am proud to endorse Donald J. Trump for President. Under his leadership, President Trump secured our southern border, created seven million jobs with record-low unemployment, brought manufacturing back to the U.S., made America energy independent and affordable, brokered historic Middle East peace deals, destroyed the ISIS caliphate, launched the Space Force, took out Soleimani, gave veterans choice, and put measures in place to stop China’s march towards global dominance.”
Additional context from the Breitbart article:
"When DeSantis stepped down from his congressional seat in September 2018 during his run for governor, the seat remained vacant until the next Congress. Waltz, who won the election, took over representing the sixth congressional district in Florida in January 2019. Waltz is currently in his third term in Congress, having won reelection in the subsequent two elections in 2020 and 2022."

RON DESANTIS WANTS TO RIP RETIREMENT BENEFITS AWAY FROM AMERICANS April 16, 2023
“DeSantis is colluding with his globalist handlers to go full Never Trump in order to gaslight the people into thinking that Medicare and Social Security should be ripped away from hard-working Americans. President Trump has made it clear that he will always stand on the side of Americans, and protect benefits seniors worked for and paid for their entire lives.” – Steven Cheung, spokesperson
As a congressman, Ron DeSantis voted three times to raise the eligibility age to 70 to receive full Social Security benefits—in 2013, in 2014, and in 2015.
DeSantis voted three times to cut benefits for Social Security recipients by changing the cost-of-living formula—in 2013, in 2014, and in 2015.
DeSantis voted six times to turn Medicare into a voucher program.
· House Vote 142
· House Vote 138
· House Vote 141
· House Vote 140
· House Vote 88
· House Vote 86
In Congress, DeSantis voted twice to cut Medicare benefits in 2015 and 2017.
DeSantis voted six times to raise the eligibility age for Medicare.
· House Vote 142
· House Vote 138
· House Vote 141
· House Vote 140
· House Vote 177
· House Vote 86
Before Ron DeSantis was elected to Congress, he said it was “necessary to make reforms” to Social Security.
On Ron DeSantis’ first day in Congress, he called “to restructure some of these entitlements,” such as Social Security.
Ron DeSantis has long embraced plans to cut Social Security and Medicare, as well as raising the eligibility age of both programs, yet the majority of Americans remain united in their opposition to these positions.
Recent polling from AP-NORC showed:
· 79% of U.S. adults oppose cutting Social Security.
· 67% of U.S. adults oppose increasing Medicare premiums.
· 70% of U.S. adults oppose raising the age of Medicare benefits to 70.
· 75% of U.S. adults oppose raising the age for Social Security benefits to 70.
These positions embody the dated and disastrous thinking of an establishment and globalist class in Washington that puts private interests before public good. We cannot allow our nation to return down the path to ruin.
President Trump has made it clear that he will ALWAYS stand on the side of Americans and protect the benefits seniors have worked hard their entire lives to earn.

Agenda47: Liberating America from Biden’s Regulatory Onslaught April 14, 2023
Mar-a-Lago, FL— President Donald J. Trump will liberate America from Joe Biden’s wasteful and job-killing regulatory onslaught and reign in the out-of-control bureaucracy in Washington, D.C.
In a new Agenda47 policy video, President Trump announced a series of bold actions to restore control of our government to the American people.
President Trump will bring the independent regulatory agencies, such as the FCC and the FTC, back under Presidential authority, as the Constitution demands. No longer will unelected members of the Washington Swamp be allowed to act as the fourth branch of our Republic.
Watch President Trump’s plan to liberate America from Biden’s regulatory onslaught.
President Trump vowed to restore his successful executive order requiring that for every one NEW regulation, two OLD regulations currently on the books must be eliminated.
In addition, President Trump will create an ultra-streamlined federal regulatory framework specifically for new Freedom Cities, which will lead to invention of new industries and provide Americans with safe and affordable living.
President Trump promised to implement a regulatory budget to place a hard cap on the costs of government regulation, ban bureaucrats from pursuing enforcement action on informal guidance alone, and will require all government regulations be posted publicly or be made null and void.
Finally, President Trump will take swift and unprecedented action to protect Americans from the out-of-control Deep State.
“I will require every federal employee to pass a new Civil Service test demonstrating an understanding of our Constitutional limited government,” President Trump said. “This will include command of due process rights, equal protection, Free Speech, religious liberty, federalism, the Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizure—I know all about that at Mar-a-Lago, don’t I— and all the other constitutional limits on federal power.”
When President Trump returns to the White House, he will put unelected bureaucrats back in their place, liberate the U.S. economy, and attract millions of jobs and trillions of dollars to our shores.
TRANSCRIPT
Cutting wasteful and job-killing regulations was a key part of my America First economic agenda that built the greatest economy in the history of the world.
As I work to quickly save America from Joe Biden’s economic disaster—and that’s what it is, one of the great economic disasters of all time—I will restore my famously successful executive order requiring that for every one NEW regulation, two OLD regulations must be eliminated—and I will ask Congress to make it permanent.
We will again implement a regulatory budget, putting a hard cap on the cost of regulations to the U.S. economy. Instead of GROWING the size and scope of the federal government every year, we will SHRINK it every year with aggressive cost reduction targets for each federal department.
In addition, I will require that all agency regulatory guidance must be posted publicly in a central database, or else be rendered null and void. And many of them will in fact be null and void. This will effectively repeal a mountain of stealth regulations and threats that rogue bureaucrats have imposed without proper oversight.
And I will sign a law to ban bureaucrats from taking any enforcement action based on informal guidance alone. For example, never again will bureaucrats be allowed to bully and pressure banks to choke off or financially de-platform politically disfavored industries. We’re not going to let that happen.
Next, I will bring the independent regulatory agencies, such as the FCC and the FTC, back under Presidential authority, as the Constitution demands. These agencies do not get to become a fourth branch of government, issuing rules and edicts all by themselves. And that’s what they’ve been doing. We will require that they submit any regulations they are considering for White House review.
In addition, we will create an ultra-streamlined federal regulatory framework specifically for Freedom Cities, allowing them to be true frontiers for the return of U.S. manufacturing, the invention of new industries, the rebirth of economic opportunity, and safe and affordable living.
Finally, I will require every federal employee to pass a new Civil Service test demonstrating an understanding of our Constitutional limited government. This will include command of due process rights, equal protection, Free Speech, religious liberty, federalism, the Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable search and seizure—I know all about that at Mar-a-Lago, don’t I— and all the other constitutional limits on federal power.
We will put unelected bureaucrats back in their place, liberate the U.S. economy, and attract millions of jobs and trillions of dollars to our shores.
Thank you very much.

ICYMI: The TRUTH About Letitia James April 13, 2023
Letitia James is a Soros-funded Democrat attorney general, who made clear that “getting Trump” was the motivating force behind her campaign.
On the campaign trail, James promised to start an illegal and unconstitutional witch-hunt against President Trump, “I look forward to going into the Office of Attorney General every day, suing him. . . and then going home!”
She announced, “what is fueling my soul right now is Trump”, and that she had her “eyes on Trump Tower.”
She even assured her supporters in a campaign promise that, “we’re going to definitely sue him. We’re going to be a real pain in the ass. He’s going to know my name personally," and she claimed President Trump was an “illegitimate President”.
In her victory speech, she promised to “shine a bright light into every dark corner of Trump’s real estate holdings.”
Shortly thereafter, she vowed to “use every area of the law to investigate President Trump and his business transactions, and that of his family as well.”
While violent crime skyrockets in New York, Letitia James is busy using taxpayer dollars to fund her radical woke agenda and witch-hunt against President Trump.

Agenda47: Firing the Radical Marxist Prosecutors Destroying America April 13, 2023
Mar-a-Lago, FL— In a new Agenda47 policy video, President Donald J. Trump pledged to restore justice in America and end the corrupt weaponization of our justice system by dangerous Marxist prosecutors.
“There is no more dire threat to the American Way of Life than the corruption and weaponization of our Justice System—and it’s happening all around us,” President Trump said. “If we cannot restore the fair and impartial rule of law, we will not be a free country.”
Watch President Trump’s plan to end the weaponization of the justice system.
President Trump will also appoint 100 U.S. Attorneys who will be the “polar opposite of the Soros District Attorneys” who are destroying the rule of law in America, overhaul the Department of Justice and order sweeping civil rights investigations into Marxist local district attorneys.
“As part of this effort, there should be a federal inquiry into the Soros prosecutor in Austin, Texas, who charged a veteran with murder for defending himself against a threat by a heavily armed member of a radical left mob,” President Trump continued.
When President Trump returns to the White House, he will order the Department of Justice to establish a task force on protecting the right to self-defense.
The new plan will also confront the radicalization of America’s law schools and fight the purge of Conservatives at law firms.
TRANSCRIPT
There is no more dire threat to the American Way of Life than the corruption and weaponization of our Justice System—and it’s happening all around us. If we cannot restore the fair and impartial rule of law, we will not be a free country.
As President, it will be my personal mission to restore the scales of justice in America. We will have fairness and equality under the law.
To that end, I will appoint U.S. Attorneys who will be the polar opposite of the Soros District Attorneys and others that are being appointed throughout the United States. Very unfair to our population. Very unfair to our country.
They will be the 100 most ferocious legal warriors against crime and Communist corruption that this country has ever seen.
As we completely overhaul the federal Department of Justice and FBI, we will also launch sweeping civil rights investigations into Marxist local District Attorneys. And that’s what we have—they are Marxist in many cases.
By refusing to charge countless crimes, these Soros prosecutors appear to be engaging in selective enforcement based on illegal racial discrimination.
In Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and every other city where these maniacs have taken over, the DA’s offices should face federal subpoenas of their staff, their emails, and their records to determine whether they have blatantly violated federal Civil Rights law.
As part of this effort, there should be a federal inquiry into the Soros prosecutor in Austin, Texas, who charged a veteran with murder for defending himself against a threat by a heavily armed member of a radical left mob. I will also order the Department of Justice to establish a task force on protecting the right to self-defense, which is under siege nationwide.
In addition, we will have a complete investigation into the use of police state tactics by federal authorities to arrest conservatives and Christians. We will find out who ordered it, and we will hold them totally accountable.
There is much more that we must do. We have to confront this radicalized law in schools. You take a look at what they’ve done to our schools, our beautiful schools.
We have to reform the far-left Bar Associations and stop the purge of Conservative lawyers from major law firms. I will do whatever it takes to save our legal system—among the greatest achievements of Western Civilization—from the Marxist barbarians who seek to destroy it. And we will do that, we will save it.
Thank you very much.

Meet Letitia James April 13, 2023
Letitia James is a Soros-funded Democrat attorney general.
- George Soros provided funding for Letitia James’ campaign.
- James also received funding from George Soros’ daughter-in-law Jennifer Soros.
Letitia James made clear that “getting Trump” was the motivating force behind her campaign for attorney general.
- In a 2018 video, James stated, “I’m running for attorney general, because I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president when our fundamental rights are at stake. He [Trump] should be charged with obstructing justice. I believe that the president of these United States can be indicted for criminal offenses and we would join with law enforcement and other attorneys general across this nation in removing this president from office…It’s important that everyone understand that the days of Donald Trump are coming to an end.”
- Letitia James announced that as Attorney General, she “look[ed] forward to going into the office of Attorney General every day, suing [President Trump] . . . and then going home!”
- During her 2018 campaign, Letitia James vowed, “As the next Attorney General of New York I will be a voice for the powerless and take on President Trump.”
- James said, “The president of the United States has to worry about three things; Mueller, Cohen, and Tish James. We’re all closing in on him.”
- James admitted that her desire to take down Trump, more than helping the people of New York, motivated her run for attorney general.
- LETITIA JAMES IN 2018: “This campaign was never really about me or any of the candidates who ran. It was about the people, but mostly it was about that man in the White House who can’t go a day without threatening our fundamental rights.”
- When she won in 2018, Letitia James reiterated her intention to use the power of her office to target Trump, saying “I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real estate dealings, and every dealing, demanding truthfulness at every turn.”
- Letitia James tweeted, “Here’s what @realDonaldTrump needs to know: I’ve got my eyes on Trump Tower.”
- Letitia James called President Trump “an embarrassment to all that we stand for.”
- Letitia James promised to be a “force pushing back against President Donald Trump through legal challenges.”
- Letitia James highlighted several members of Congress who were supporting her campaign specifically because “they know I’m the toughest and best suited to take on Donald Trump.”
- Former U.S. attorney, senior FBI official and chief of the Drug Enforcement Administration Chuck Rosenberg wrote that Letitia James’ comments during her campaign “demonstrate a prejudgment of the facts and a political predisposition to the issues she now must manage apolitically and dispassionately…she ought to fully and deeply appreciate that injudicious comments undermine her office and her cases – legally and factually[.]”
Letitia James is a Democratic activist.
- During each of the last two years, Letitia James contributed to ActBlue, a left-wing online fundraising platform that Joe Biden and many other Democratic candidates used in 2020.
- Letitia James has donated to multiple Democratic candidates.
Letitia James has been soft on crime and has tried to prevent New York’s police officers from doing their jobs.
- Last year, Letitia James refused to commit to tightening New York’s no cash bail system, saying we need make sure we are “resisting the urge to overreact to spikes in crime.”
- Letitia James recommended that police officers stop arresting people with certain open warrants during traffic stops because “the involvement of police in such situations can result in violent interactions.”
- In 2021, Letitia James introduced a bill to limit police officers’ use of force and make it easier to prosecute officers.
- The head of the Police Benevolent Association of NYC criticized the bill, saying “The bottom line: more cops and more regular New Yorkers are going to get hurt.” In 2022, the 50,000 member Police Conference of New York endorsed Letitia James’ opponent Michael Henry in the attorney general race.
- NYC Detectives Endowment president Paul DiGiacomo said that James “has been no help whatsoever to the women and men who daily put themselves in harm’s way. Keeping New Yorkers safe from criminals is not her priority. She sued the NYPD on pattern and practices after the George Floyd riots, but said nothing about the rioters total disregard for public safety and for public and private property.”
Letitia James covered for her former chief of staff who was accused of sexual harassment.
- Letitia James’ former aide alleged that James had protected her former longtime chief of staff who was accused of sexual harassment rather than aggressively investigating his conduct.
- James reportedly knew about her aide’s sexual harassment allegations for over a month before Election Day 2022 but did not publicize the matter until after the election.
Letitia James has used taxpayer dollars to fund her radical woke agenda.
- In March 2023, Letitia James hosted a Drag Story Hour. James tweeted, "It's time for Drag Story Hour! We're at @LGBTCenterNYC with some amazing Drag Story Hour NYC storytellers, New York families, elected officials, and community leaders to kick off our Drag Story Hour read-a-thon!"
Letitia James has pursued an anti-Second Amendment agenda.
- In 2018, Letitia James called the NRA a “terrorist organization” and “a criminal enterprise.”
- Letitia James defended New York State’s draconian gun control law after a judge blocked portions of the law as unconstitutional. James said, “I will not back down from the fight to protect New Yorkers from repeated and baseless attacks on our state’s gun safety measures.
- The judge said that New York has “further reduced a first-class constitutional right” to “a mere request.”
Crime in New York has skyrocketed on Letitia James’ watch.

WILL RON DESANTIS FLIP-FLOP AND CHANGE FLORIDA’S “RESIGN TO RUN” LAW? April 10, 2023
DeSantis Resigned Early From Congress To Run For Governor, Noting It Would Be “Inappropriate” To “Accept A Salary” When He Would Be Missing The “Vast Majority” Of “Remaining Session Days”
DeSantis Now Adding Japan, South Korea, Israel And The UK To April Travel Schedule
Under Current Florida Law, DeSantis’ Taxpayer-Funded April Presidential Campaign Travel Will Force Him To Resign As Governor
Mar-a-Lago, FL – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is currently on a month-long, taxpayer-funded presidential campaign schedule paid for by Florida taxpayers, and new questions are emerging as to whether this will force DeSantis to resign from office. The matter also highlights yet another flip-flop for DeSantis, who previously resigned from Congress to run for Governor to “protect the taxpayers.”
At present, Florida has a “Resign to Run” law that requires statewide officeholders to leave their positions if they’re running for Federal office. In remarks first shared with the Associated Press, Nova Southeastern University Law School Professor Bob Jarvis said, “There is no ambiguity, no debate, no dispute. Under current law, DeSantis cannot run for president before first resigning as a governor.”
DeSantis allies in the Florida legislature are considering a change to state law to help the Governor, but DeSantis has already begun his month-long, taxpayer-funded campaign schedule before legislation could be passed.
Further complicating matters: Florida’s current “Resign to Run” law states that candidates must resign from their posts no later than 10 days before qualifying for office. But according to Politico’s Gary Fineout, over the month of April DeSantis is leaving Florida to campaign in Georgia, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Ohio, New Hampshire, Utah, and Texas, with South Carolina now being added to this month’s itinerary.
DeSantis also plans to visit Israel and the U.K. in April to score some last-minute foreign policy credentials for his 2024 presidential campaign, and it is now being reported that DeSantis will also visit Japan and Korea as part of his taxpayer-funded globetrotting.
All of this brings us back to 2018, when DeSantis was running for Governor and resigned from Congress, noting it would be “inappropriate” to “accept a salary” when he would be missing “the vast majority” or “remaining session days.”
DeSantis’ upcoming 2024 presidential campaign travel occurs while the Florida Legislature is in-session, and before DeSantis has formed a campaign committee to pay for his travel. This means that in addition to his salary, Florida taxpayers are on the hook for travel and security costs. So why the change of heart?
“Gov. Ron DeSantis wants to campaign full-time for president, during the Florida legislative session, while collecting a salary and having the taxpayers pick up the costs for his travel and security. It’s a massive flip-flop from his position in 2018,” said Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung. “To make matters worse, DeSantis’ upcoming taxpayer-funded campaign travel appears to put him at odds with Florida’s existing ‘Resign to Run’ law.”
In recent months, Gov. DeSantis has used taxpayer dollars to travel around the country for his 2024 presidential campaign, including to the early voting states of Iowa and Nevada. DeSantis’ gubernatorial office, however, refuses to tell reporters - and the public - how much taxpayer money has been spent to fund these travels, or how much DeSantis’ April globetrotting will cost.

Legal Analysts from Both Sides Flatly Reject “Underwhelming” Sham Indictment Against President Trump April 05, 2023
CNN legal analyst Carrie Cordero called the indictment “underwhelming” on air with Jake Tapper.
“In terms of a case that’s being brought against a former president, it’s a little underwhelming. There’s not more to it. There’s not more violations, tax violations,” said Cordero. “There’s not an incredible new set of facts that we didn’t know about publicly. It’s really the facts of this case, as they have existed for basically almost seven years.”
FOX News legal analyst and law professor Jonathan Turley predicted that Bragg’s case against President Trump would ‘collapse’ before it ever goes to trial.
“I’ve never seen an indictment like this one,” said Turley. “I know a lot of judges who would’ve been not too pleased to receive an indictment like this—who would have said ‘what the heck is this?’”
In an earlier interview on FOX News, Turley called Alvin Bragg’s case against President Trump “legally pathetic” and “a raw political prosecution.”
Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Andy McCarthy told FOX News that “If the judge does his job right, Trump’s case should be dismissed.”
Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz slammed Alvin Bragg’s political prosecution, characterizing the attack as “not justice in America.”
In a recent Daily Mail op-ed, Dershowitz wrote, “This indictment speaks to how laughable and blatantly political this prosecution really is. It's a tragedy.”
Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General John Yoo characterized the unsealed indictment as a “nothing burger” and exposed that the indictment doesn’t even describe a crime.
CNN Chief Law Enforcement Analyst John Miller said, ”we’ve kind of whipped ourselves up over the last week” over the indictment against former President Donald Trump and believed that there “must be more than what we know” but the indictment is “just the same stuff we already knew” about a seven-year-old case that “nobody” in the prosecutor’s office wanted to move forward with.
Former New York prosecutor and Judge Jeanine Pirro said, “This is a whole lot of nothing. First of all, the indictment is insufficient on its face… In addition, it is duplicitous— so nobody get excited about the 34 counts, they’re meaningless.”
“There’s no crime at all — at all,” Trump lawyer Joe Tacopina told CBS Mornings, “I mean, this is not a game. You’re charging the former president of the United States with crimes, crimes that will never be sustained in a court of law because they don’t exist.”
“There’s no new evidence. That’s spin,” said Tacopina on the TODAY show.
“I’ve read the statement of facts, it’s exactly what we talked about. Exactly what the United States Department of Justice—the federal prosecutors in Manhattan—turned down years ago. It’s exactly what the Federal Election Commission had said there’s no FEC violation here. It’s exactly what Cy Vance, the former prosecutor in that office turned down, three years ago. There’s no new evidence. This is just rehashing a zombie case.”
In a New York Post op-ed titled, “Is that really all there is to the Trump indictment? How pathetic,” FOX News contributor and New York Post columnist Michael Goodwin writes, “By making the former president look like a victim of a crooked prosecutor and a partisan system, the DA confirms for millions of Americans that Trump is all that stands between them and the authoritarian left that will stop at nothing to get and hold power.”
“Here's the only thing non-lawyers need to know about this case—if after the 2020 election Donald Trump had announced that he was retiring from politics, Alvin Bragg would not have indicted him,” said attorney and FOX News host Laura Ingraham.
FOX Business’ Maria Bartiromo criticized Bragg’s office for leaking details of a sealed indictment, a felony offense in New York.
Prior to the judge’s decision to deny Bragg’s gag order, Dershowitz slammed Alvin Bragg.
“The prosecutor in New York City can't be determining the outcome of an election. So, you can be sure that we will take the case to the Supreme Court if a gag order is imposed on behalf, not of Donald Trump, but on behalf of those of us who want to hear him talk.”
This political prosecution is so out-of-bounds that even Never Trumpers like Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, and disgraced FBI agent Andrew McCabe came to President Trump’s defense.

NEW POLLING MEMO: SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP SURGES AFTER MANHATTAN DA INDICTMENT April 01, 2023
To: Donald J. Trump for President
From: John McLaughlin, McLaughlin & Associates
Date: April 1, 2023
Survey Summary:
This survey of 1,000 likely 2024 general election voters conducted on behalf of the Donald J. Trump for President campaign was completed over a two-day period on March 31 and April 1, following media reports that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg planned to indict President Trump.
Survey questions of the 1,000 likely general election voters have an accuracy of +/- 3.1% at a 95% confidence interval. The accuracy of the responses from the 452 likely Republican primary voters is +/- 4.6% at a 95% confidence interval.
All interviews were conducted online; survey invitations were distributed randomly within predetermined geographic units. These units were structured to correlate with actual voter turnout in a nationwide general election.
Of note: President Trump received a significant increase over his opponents in full-field and one-on-one primary election ballot tests, while his decisive lead over Joe Biden in a general election ballot test remains level.
Additionally, a majority of general election voters now see the attacks on President Trump as making things worse and dividing the country while ignoring real issues, and a plurality of general election voters think the justice system has been weaponized against President Trump.
General election voters replying that the indictment news would make them “more likely” to vote for President Trump have a 13-point advantage over those replying that the indictment news would make them “less likely” to vote for President Trump.
Key Findings:
- In a full-field ballot test of 14 potential Republican candidates, President Trump leads with 51%, DeSantis 21%, Mike Pence 6%, Nikki Haley 4%, and everyone else is at 2% or less. In our January survey, President Trump led the field with 43%, and DeSantis was at 31%. Trump’s lead has gone from 12 points to 30 points.
- In a one-on-one primary ballot test, President Trump beats Governor DeSantis 63% to 30%. Trump’s lead is up to 33 points from his January lead of 12 points (52% to 40%).
- Among Republican primary voters, including independents who vote in Republican primaries, 65% want President Trump to run again. This is up from 58% in January.
- Republican primary voters clearly prefer President Trump as their strongest candidate to beat Joe Biden. Republican primary voters say Trump is better positioned to beat Joe Biden at 61% vs. 33% who prefer someone else.
- 71% of general election voters say the country is on the wrong track, up from 65% in our March survey. 69% of general election voters say the Country has gone backward in the past two years.
- In a general election ballot test, President Trump leads Joe Biden 47-43. This number is virtually unchanged from our March 2023 survey.
- Most American voters now see the attacks on President Trump as making things worse and dividing the country. By a margin of 56% to 34%, general election voters agree that “By continuing to attack President Trump, Joe Biden and the radical left are making things worse and keeping the country divided.” Republican primary voters agree 86% to 9%.
- Almost six in ten general election voters, 57%, agree that “Joe Biden and the Democrats are spending too much time and resources going after Donald Trump with phony political attacks that are a waste of time and taxpayer dollars instead of trying to solve the country’s real problems on issues like the economy, inflation, crime, immigration, and national security. Only 35% disagreed. Republican primary voters agreed 88% to 8%.
- Most general election voters see the justice system being highly politicized. A plurality of voters, 48%, agree with the statement “Joe Biden and the radical left have weaponized the justice system to prosecute their political opponents.” Only 39% disagreed. Republican primary voters agreed with this statement 82% to 11%.
- Notably, a majority of general election voters surveyed see a double standard of justice where the Biden family corruption escapes investigation and President Trump is charged. The majority of voters, 55%, agree with the statement “Under President Biden there is a double standard of criminal justice where the alleged Hunter Biden and Biden family corruption escapes indictments while President Trump is continually investigated looking for crimes to prosecute him.” Only 33% of all voters disagreed. Republican primary voters agreed with this statement 85% to 10%.
- For most general election voters, the Manhattan DA’s indictment appears rigged against President Trump. Only 37% of all voters say President Trump can get a fair trial in Manhattan, while 47% say it will not be a fair trial. Among Republican primary voters, only 18% say that Trump can get a fair trial in Manhattan, with 72% of respondents saying it will not be a fair trial.
