In 1967, a sales manager at Burrough’s Corporation mentioned a very
valuable concept to me, a young sales rep. He said, “If you want to make
$100,000 a year, all you have to do is find a hundred people who can make
you $1,000 or a thousand people to make $100.” (Keep in mind, this is in
1967 dollars.)
It was this piece of advice that inspired me to become an entrepreneur
and create my own business, Paychex.
