When I was leaving home to attend college, afraid that I could not
compete in a larger world than high school, my family physician said
something interesting. He told me that the most successful people, which
he defined as the top 10 percent, were not that smart. They were just not as
dumb as the bottom 90 percent.
He also told me that there was no competition at the top, but neglected
to mention that there’s plenty of competition on the way there.
