The best advice came from my father, Fred J. Drakeman, an international
business executive. He said, “People will do what you measure and
review.” This does not mean just focusing on the annual performance
review, however. Managers should monitor and review employee tasks and
accomplishments in real time, in order to ensure that everyone
accomplishes their goals.
